#50 50th Anniversary Padres Baseball in San Diego Special Edition Minifigure
The Padres are celebrating their 50th Anniversary, having joined the National League in 1969. The Padres (and the Angels) are the MLB teams that started in California and still play there - the others all having moved there. The Padres took their name from the old Pacific Coast League San Diego Padres, an exciting addition for the city when former PCL Padres owner and local business man C Arnholt Smith founded the team. Later on the team was owned by Ray Kroc, the famous founder of McDonalds. The team moved to it's current home of Petco Park in 2004 after leaving Qualcomm Stadium their home from when they started, and shared with the then Chargers.
